We love seeing the smiles on your faces when you complete a race. This is just a hobby for us-we have other “proper” full time jobs outside the running world. But we love organising these races and helping you lot get out on those trails.
John started running properly in 2003 when he completed the Stockholm marathon, and then a year later repeated the feat in Rome. Following that he had something of a hiatus from running before picking back up where he left off in 2013 at the Bournemouth marathon, and then London the year after. Since then he has clocked up 60+ marathon and ultra-distance races with his favourite achievement being that he has a “black t-shirt” for completing the 100km Stour Valley Path Ultra three times. He was a parkrun Run Director for over three years.
Lorraine ran her first 26-miler in 2011 and has since notched up 60+ marathon and ultra-distance races. She has collected a few trophies for her gender/age category, held ‘Good For Age’ marathon times, and is a Guinness world record holder for running in a two-person camel outfit! A previous member of Colchester Castle parkrun core team, she brings a surprising amount of structure, organisation and boundless energy to the CofR table.
